The new Slacko Puppy 5.3.3:
has Linux kernel 3.1.10 made with Aufs (file layer for the use of sfs add-ons);
is compatible with the binary packages of Slackware 13.37, accessible through the Package Manager (note that native Puppy Linux packages are called PETs);
has Mozilla browser in the latest Seamonkey 2.9.1 suite that also includes email/news client and html editor;
runs first-boot wizard that takes care of your desktop settings and connections;
includes support for many wired and wireless connections including 3G modems;
has Slickpet for adding popular programs to your setup;
has excellent multimedia support;
has alternative build (PAE HighMem ISO) for machines with high memory.

April 5, 2012 - Racy Puppy has been updated to version 5.3. It is Wary with new Xorg 7.6 and kernel 3.0.25 - a version of Wary enhanced to run on new PCs, see the announcement by Barry Kauler. There is now greater support for internationalization, and lots of bugs have been fixed. Language "langpacks" are now available with included translations for both the system and applications.
Download racy-5.3.iso here or there , size = 112.8 MB, md5sum = 5e2775f136be67a71ff2dc2835ae7a39 (it is smaller than Wary because it lacks dial-up modem drivers).
Racy boots directly to graphical desktop - it can use the full potential of graphics devices and has new device drivers for new PCs.

April 5, 2012 - Wary Puppy 5.3 is released, see the announcement by Barry Kauler. There is now greater support for internationalization, and lots of bugs have been fixed. Wary 5.3 runs well on old PCs, but it can upgrade display for new PCs with the new Xorg 7.6 - try Menu-Setup-Video Upgrade Wizard. The screenshot shows the Wary desktop.

October 14, 2011 - Wary Puppy 5.2 is released, see the announcement by Barry Kauler. There is a service pack of October 28, 2011 that brings the version to 5.2.1.
Wary Puppy 5.2.1 has:
new or upgraded applications such as PupCamera and PuppyPhone (Psip) ;
lots of recompiled and updated packages, enabling the old-hardware-friendly Xorg 7.3 to be upgraded to the newer Xorg 7.6 using a single PET mega-package (choose ALL in the Package Manager and locate the xorg76_mega_pkg at the bottom of the list);
better stability with continuing bug fixes and long-term supported kernel 2.6.32 build 45.
August 29, 2011 - Wary Puppy 5.1.4 is released, see the announcement by Barry Kauler. There is a bugfix of August 31, 2011 that brings the version to 5.1.4.1.
This new Wary Puppy has:
improvement in the kernel of Wary 5.1.3 with "configuration change that fixes a nasty kernel crash and other mysterious behaviour";
better stability with bug fixes and long-term supported kernel 2.6.32 build 44 ;
new applications such as Default Applications Chooser , urxvtset (for console settings) and other utilities;
quick unmounting of drives via enhanced drive icons using Vovchik's pngoverlay utility;

This new Wary Puppy has:
better stability with bug fixes and long-term supported kernel 2.6.32 ;
better compatibility with older hardware, with new
sound setup wizard ;
better internationalization with UTF-8 support (changed from utf8);
complete applications for daily use, with additional packages available through the Package Manager ( RPM packages can now be used!);
graphical SFS downloader (sfs files are large blocks of applications added as a single file, like OpenOffice);
BaCon (BASIC to C) support for executables (optionally add development tools through the devx.sfs);
new user fido , a non-root user.

built on kernel 2.6.31.14;
has complete applications for daily use, with additonal packages compiled from source in T2 (see Setup - Package Manager);
can use large applications as SFS add-ons from here (place the SFS in /mnt/home and reboot).

July 24, 2011 - ISpup is here, an industrial-strength, optimized and enhanced Quirky-120 NOP.
