Gov. Beshear Signs Disaster Relief and Recovery Legislation

This spring’s devastating storms and tornadoes thrashed Kentucky communities, marking the 11th federally-declared disaster in the Commonwealth since 2008. To support ongoing recovery efforts, Governor Steve Beshear today ceremonially signed legislation to help Kentuckians when they are victims of natural disasters.

Eggners Ferry Bridge to reopen Friday afternoon

Gov. Steve Beshear hailed tomorrow’s planned reopening of the U.S. 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge – a full 2 ½ days ahead of schedule. Hall Contracting of Kentucky Inc. completed the emergency repairs on the bridge earlier than required, and the bridge is expected to reopen to traffic at 1 p.m. CDT Friday.

Some park beaches closed due to low water
